What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural, yet deeply focused state of mind—very similar to being completely absorbed in a great book or losing track of time while daydreaming. It is not about “losing control” or being asleep; rather, it is an empowered state of relaxed awareness. In this state, the “mental noise” of your conscious, critical mind is quieted, allowing you to access the deeper layers of your subconscious. It is a safe and common experience that we often enter naturally every day, but in a clinical setting, we use it intentionally to facilitate positive change.

What is Hypnotherapy?

While hypnosis is the “state” of relaxation, Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic work done while in that state. Think of hypnosis as the bridge, and hypnotherapy as the journey across it.
By communicating directly with the subconscious—the control center for your habits, emotions, and long-held beliefs—hypnotherapy allows us to “rewire” outdated patterns that your logical mind has struggled to change.
